I did not find any problems in the plugin source code. it works fine with my blog. and with over 500 others Perhaps your server doesn’t allow file_get_contents function. Maybe try to reinstall the plugin. I’ll prepare some diagnosis tool for you.

Hi, just installed your plugin and generated the sitemap. I click to submit my sitemap to search engines. It was submitted all but the following. There was no reason given for Yahoo. Do you know why it may not have worked with the Yahoo engine?
Yahoo! reported:
The following errors were detected
Live Search reported:
Engine error

Is it possible to change the directory of the sitemap index? I don’t want the link to my sitemap to include this:

You can set the number of posts that is being shown in one sitemap. if You have more posts it’d make another sitemap.

Hello,
Google can read the sitemap but gives the following error for all links:
This url is not allowed for a Sitemap at this location.

Hi.
Thank You for trying out my plugin. All it’s settings are placed at yourblog.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sitemap-index.php site. There You can find “Sitemap URL address:” that should look like yourblog.com/wp-content/plugins/sitemap-index/gen_sitemap.php. At beginning You have to submit the sitemap to google webmasters page yourself. It only ping sitemap changes…
regards

Hi,
This looks great, but I am not sure how it create sitemap when it don’t generate any, I am using XML sitemap plugin that generates the xml file and inform major search engines like you, but my question is that what does your plugin do? Does it only tell google etc when there is change in the sitemap. Please explain I am confused on this.
thanks!!!

On one of my sites the urlset closing tag was not being added. I fixed it. I suggest you set $xmlForFooter and $xmlForHeaderin the same place in your code. Contact me if you want a copy of how I fixed it.
Thank you. Otherwise this works quite well, and I appreciate you making it available.
